Sweet Lime restaurant truly lived up to its name on Wednesday night, when the classy Ariapita Avenue eatery hosted another edition of its Wine and Jazz series.

Guests were treated to complimentary red and white wines, courtesy Hand Arnold, and a tasty variety of cheeses, all the while serenaded by guitarist Arthur Marcial, who played a nice mix of jazz, soul and R&B favourites, including Andy Narell's We Kinda People, Master Blaster by Stevie Wonder and Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles.

He even whipped out his accordian on a couple of numbers and vocalised on George Benson's On Broadway.

Diners selected to their hearts' desire from Sweet Lime's sumptuous menu, choosing from appetsers like Spinach Accra, Caribbean Fish Chowder and Buffalo Wings, as well as tempting main course choices like Calypso Grilled Chicken Breast, King Fish Creole and Striploin Grand Master.

Still, the fun was just warming up. Around 10 pm, ace pannist Ken "Professor" Philmore came on, raising everyone's spirits with his characteristic lively onstage moves. He gave an animated performance, accompanied by vocalists Special and  Lesha Thurton, who added their good cheer to the festivities.

Diners and those who had just come for the drinks and good time danced and tapped their feet to the performances, with the lively jam session going on until past 1 am.

Sweet Lime's Wine and Jazz series continues next month with more fine wine and live entertainment.
